Missing body of Sean Mitchell found in Perth

The body of missing Perth man Sean Michel is has reportedly been found.

According to reports, a body believed to be Mitchell’s was found in Swan River in Perth by a member of the public in the water, near Chidley Point Reserve in Mosman Park.

Mr Mitchell was last seen on May 22, drinking with friends at a beer cafe on Murray Street in the Perth CBD at around 5pm.

He then reportedly boarded a friend’s yacht later in the evening. His bag was found in the river the following day. It is believed that he attempted to row back in his dinghy to shore on Friday night/Saturday morning from the yacht that was moored in the Swan River.

“It is believed the body is that of missing man Sean Mitchell, however at this time no formal identification has been completed,” said a police spokesman.

Police told reporters that no suspicious circumstances had been identified, and that Mr Mitchell’s family has already been informed.

After the alert by the member of the public, the search for Mr Mitchell has been suspended.
