Police and search parties have found the two Dunedin bikers who were reported missing this morning.

Before police found the bikers Jesse Schulz and Mason Hart, aged 22 and 23, they were last seen on Thursday at around noon. Reports said that they were riding on a quad bike and a trail bike through Berwick Forest, 40 kilometers south of Dunedin.

The men were reported missing at around 1am, after failing to return home from a day trip in the forest. 3News reported that it was a large pine plantation of forest tracks and walkways.

Police found the men’s vehicle and trailer, and expressed concern because they spent the night out in freezing conditions.

Police found the men at Berwick village, southwest of Mosgiel on Friday, saying that they were lost out in the cold and unable to make their way out on Thursday night.

Sergeant Kevin Davidson said that the men “seem to be fit and well.” No further details were provided, but it is believed that the men did motocross riding and were delayed due to a mechanical failure.

The search was conducted by police, with the help of forestry workers.
